June 2020 Wrap-Up

It’s been kind of a wild month, but I’m taking a vacation next month and very much looking forward to that. Things in my personal life have been a little hectic, but seem to be settling down a bit. I feel like I just posted my May wrap-up, but I guess it’s July now!

Books Read:

  • Bunny by Mona Awad. 3 stars, review.
  • The Mercies by Kiran Millwood Hargrave. 2.5 stars, review.
  • The End of Policing by Alex S. Vitale. 4 stars, review. [ebook currently free on the publisher’s website!]
  • Middlegame by Seanan McGuire. 4.5 stars, review.
  • Lovecraft Country by Matt Ruff. 3.5 stars, review.
  • Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power. 4 stars, review coming July 7th.
  • How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi. 3.5 stars, review.
  • The City in the Middle of the Night by Charlie Jane Anders. 3 stars, review.

Books read: 8 books
Average rating: 3.5 stars

Other Media:

  • Movies:
  • TV Shows:
    • 90 Day Fiance, Season 4 Ep 8
    • Shrill, Season 2 Eps 5-7
    • Monster Factory, Eps 1-4
    • Rick and Morty, Season 4 Ep 10
    • F is for Family, Season 1 Ep 1
    • Arrested Development, Season 1 Eps 1-10 [rewatch]
    • Buzzfeed Unsolved: Supernatural, Season 3 Ep 9
    • much less TV this month!
  • Video Games:
    • Death and Taxes; good but also a bummer!
    • Hustle Cat; really cute but also an intriguing story. I thought it would be a run-of-the-mill dating game so it was a pleasant surprise.
    • Later Daters; dating sim where you’re in a senior living facility! you can have a non-binary character and be queer as hell AND polyam.

    1. haha, it’s ok! i love to watch bad movies but then they end up being,,,,, Bad. i haven’t read Shrill yet (although i do own a copy!) but i really like the TV show! i feel like the lead actress is super fun and there’s a decent amount of diversity as well. i honestly want the MC’s roommate to get her own spinoff, she’s a British Black lesbian and is loads of fun.
